This month’s Community Spotlight is the Atascocita Trails Homeowners Association. Atascocita Trails has been professionally managed by C.I.A. Services, Inc. for twelve years, which is why they were overjoyed when our Houston Regional office opened its doors just a mile down the road.
The community recently banded together through the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl. The hurricane swept through the community destroying fences, uprooting trees, and damaging homes. The community park and pool were hit especially hard. The residents took this disaster as an opportunity to show the true meaning of community. They joined forces to clear debris, share supplies, and offer a helping hand to anyone in need. Although many were without power for a week, community members with generators were offering AC and fresh meals to those who needed it.
The community park and pool was able to reopen on July 20th, only a few days after most of the neighborhood got their power back on, thanks to the hard work of many. The pile of tree debris from the park was massive-- it was not a simple feat! Many fences were also quicky repaired by contractors.
One week later, the community decided to throw a “surviving the hurricane” party as a chance to further come together after this disaster. There were games, nachos, popcorn, and snow cones. Many residents brought homemade desserts to share, too. It was a great way to get to know the neighbors that helped each other out during the storm!
Special thanks to the Board of Atascocita Trails, who put the party together and helped pass out pool cards to those who needed them!
