Sunrise Pines Homeowners Association, Inc.

Ahead of the 2021 annual meeting, the Sunrise Pines Board of Directors listened to a variety of concerns from the residents of Sunrise Pines.

One common issue given to the SRPHOA Board of Directors is that the streets are not safe to walk due to the many cars on the street. Additionally, the neighborhood does not have sidewalks. In order to provide a safer place for residents of the community to walk outside without having to dodge cars, trucks, and children, the Board established a plan to create a walking trail around the detention pond owned and maintained by the Parkway Utility District behind Sunrise Pines.

Board members Ron Everhart and Brenda McNeil, voted to expand the Board from 3 to 5 members, and at the next election Jennifer Moss, Etimbuk Isaiah, and Bobby Brisker were elected to the Board in 2022. The two experienced Board members and 3 new board members quickly negotiated an agreement with the Parkway Utility District to maintain the new trail, so long as the Association paid all of the upfront cost. The Association hired one of the top landscape architecture firms  (Clark Condon) in Houston to project manage and design the trail.

Both the Parkway UD and Sunrise Pines Board saw this as a ‘win-win’ for the community.  Furthermore, the Association also included a clause that will allow it to fund future improvements to the trail, as funds allow but it is not obligated to do so at any point.

Today a trail that includes 3 seating areas, softscape landscaping at the three seated areas, as well as mature oak trees to provide shade is enjoyed by all. Future plans for the trail include additional trees in order to provide additional shade.

All 5 board members played an integral role in the project, and C.I.A. Services is continuously proud to be the management partner of Sunrise Pines.
