Cinco Ranch Southwest Community Council

Cinco Ranch Southwest Community Council (CRSWCC) is a community-based, non-profit corporation whose purpose is to provide programs, activities, and services to facilitate and enhance community life in the Cinco Ranch community and the greater community while responding to individual creativity and interests. In short, the CRSWCC Board of Trustees is responsible for the social activities, educational activities, cultural experiences, environmental programs, and charitable offerings for the Cinco Ranch Residential II Association of 6,358 homes. Under the best circumstances, this is a large undertaking for the 7-member board and the assistance of the Community Coordinator.

During these unprecedented times, the CRSWCC Board of Trustees and the Community Coordinator rose to the challenge. It was the goal of the team to still provide the community with safe, entertaining, and educational experiences from the comfort of their homes.

In the past 18 months, more than 40 events were successfully held while maintaining social distancing and navigating the “new normal” of virtual living. The team offered virtual events such as bingo, trivia, movie watch parties, minute to win it, wreath making classes, beer and cheese pairing, and a kids mad scientist event. There were also several drive-thru events that included a bag of Easter eggs for hunting at home, a car show, trick or treating, and our largest event of the year: Family Fest.

The Community Coordinator worked with the Board of Trustees to launch the digital lifestyle page that included many educational opportunities and numerous DIY crafts for the entire family. This page is still being maintained and frequently updated even though many of the residents have returned to daily activities outside the home.

With these uncertain times, the CRSWCC Board of Trustees and the Community Coordinator continue to brainstorm creative and fun ways to uphold the mission of the Cinco Ranch Southwest Community Council while keeping the residents of Cinco Ranch Residential II Association safe.
