A person’s home is not just about shelter and where they live. It’s also where they put down roots, build relationships, and make a difference in the greater community. The Cinco Ranch Southwest Community Council is a unique association that offers the opportunity for residents to create a better quality of life for themselves, their neighbors, and the community at large and to have a great time doing it.
When Cinco Ranch II was created, multiple associations were established to meet all of the community members’ needs. The traditional homeowner’s association deals with the day to day business of maintaining the community, handling tasks such as facility maintenance, assessment collection and compliance enforcement for the residential portion of the community. The commercial association does the same for the commercial properties within Cinco Ranch II.
The Community Council is where the magic happens! Under the guidance of a 7-member Board of Trustees, the Community Coordinator, Lindsay Schofield, does an amazing job providing social events that crossover to also be educational, cultural, environmental and/or charitable.
December is a particularly busy month for Lindsay. For the entire month of December, the Council sponsors a toy drive. December is also when the community celebrates the holiday season with the Annual Family Fest. Diversity is an important part of Cinco Ranch Living and Lindsay has created an event that celebrates many cultures. The event is not just about Santa and decorated trees to celebrate the Christmas holiday. At the Cinco Ranch Family Fest, you will find displays and activities that incorporate Diwali, Kwanza, Hanukah, Winter Solstice, and Yule. It is truly an amazing sight to see! Later in the month, there is a special holiday movie. Families are encouraged to cuddle up on their blankets and watch a treasured holiday film on the big screen.
It is exciting to work with an association that embraces community living, giving and learning! We are proud to be a part of this amazing group!
