Colony Grant Homeowner’s Association is nestled among the tree-lined boulevards in Sugar Land. This city is known for its character and charm and Colony Grant embodies that spirit. The board diligently strives to maintain property values of an aging community through strong, consistent deed restriction and collections enforcement.
Grants Lake borders their four tennis courts, two swimming pools and recreation center as well as several residential homes with lakeside views. The bulkhead is drastically failing in several locations as father time has taken its toll. Working hard over the last few years with a team of professionals, the board has thoroughly evaluated the cause for failure and is tirelessly devising a structurally sound replacement that is also aesthetically pleasing, giving the lake a well-deserved facelift. Phase 1-A of the replacement project is currently in progress as of last month with a projected year end completion.
The board completed several enhancements in 2015 consisting mainly of landscape changes. Additional beds were added around the parking lot at the recreation center. Aging Bradford Pears were removed along Hickory Run and replaced with Crape Myrtles. Additional shade trees were added to the park as well. The board continues to make improvements to the community and has several additional landscape projects being considered for 2016.
Colony Grant continues to maintain the Sugar Land standards proving that character and warmth does in fact come with age. With a bit of wisdom and care, growing old does not have to mean giving up.
