High School Graduates

Alex Oshman is one of C.I.A. Services’s very own Architectural Review Coordinators. Alex has delivered exceptional service to homeowners and has been a pleasure to work with since she started in February 2023. She is one of our company’s youngest employees but consistently demonstrates wisdom and resourcefulness that exceeds her years. We have been lucky to have her on our team.

Alex’s meticulous work ethic extends beyond delivering the best service possible to the communities she works with. She has distinguished herself in her studies, service work, and hobbies. In terms of academics, Alex recently graduated among the top 4% of students from Atascocita High School. Her stellar academic performance and community involvement allowed her admission into the National Honor and Spanish National Honor Societies, two service-based organizations that aim to champion well-rounded young adults. She also participated in the rigorous Advanced Placement Capstone program that centers around research, collaboration, writing, and presenting. On top of all this, Alex finds the time to be an avid concert-goer, talented musician, bookworm, movie connoisseur, and an excellent person.

The admissions staff of Trinity University seems to agree that Alex is phenomenal. Alex will attend the San Antonio school starting this fall as one of twenty Tower Scholars--a competitive, full-tuition scholarship. She intends to major in history and economics while completing the university’s pre-law program. We know that her path will not be for the faint of heart, but if anyone can do it, it’s Alex. We are beyond proud of her and cannot wait to see all she will accomplish! Go Tigers!

Emily Lihou, daughter of Laura Tate, Executive Vice President, has graduated from Atascocita High School!  She is well-known as the girl with the vibrant red hair and she has a dazzling smile to go along with it.

As a dedicated student who never shied away from a heavy academic load, Emily earned a spot in the National Honor Society. She successfully completed several advanced placement tests, which can be converted to college credits, and has already earned college credits in US history and precalculus by participating in the school’s dual credit program.

Fine arts is a passion of Emily’s, specifically music and dance.  She played violin for the AHS orchestra throughout her high school career and was placed in the top tier group, Chamber Orchestra, by her sophomore year. She danced outside of school with Define Dance, eagerly taking on a heavy schedule of five classes a week plus dance competitions.

In the fall, Emily will be attending Texas State University, seeking a major in Dance with a minor in Business Administration and potentially adding a second minor in Psychology.

Congratulations Emily!

Cody is the youngest son of our Vice President and Director of Technology, Angela Douglas. He graduated with honors from Fern Creek High School (go Tigers!).

Like his mom, Cody enjoys technology and computers. He spent his high school days in the computer lab and tinkered with his own computers at home.

We are thrilled to see Cody embark on his next chapter at the University of Louisville, where he will pursue his passion for software engineering at U of L’s J.B. Speed School of Engineering.

His future is filled with promise and we are excited to see him thrive!

Congratulations to Steven Soto, son of Community Manager Jessica Soto, for graduating from Spring High School!

Steven, AKA "Bubba," has overcome numerous challenges on his path to graduation. As a parent, witnessing his growth and resilience has been nothing short of inspiring. Despite the hurdles he faced, Steven approached each day with unwavering determination and a smile that could light up a room. He has a remarkable ability to connect with people and brighten their day with his infectious laughter and warm hugs.

Steven has been an active participant in various school activities. He was an integral part of the ROTC program, where he demonstrated dedication and discipline. Physical Education provided him with an outlet for his boundless energy, while the Culinary program allowed him to unleash his creativity in the kitchen.

Beyond his involvement in school activities, Steven has been a proud participant in the school district’s Special Olympics since he was three years old. His enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and unwavering determination have made him a beloved member of the Special Olympics community.

Congratulations, Bubba, on this incredible milestone. Your graduation is not just a testament to your academic achievements, but also to the love, determination, and sheer grit that define who you are. We cannot wait to see where your journey takes you next.

Moving to the Next Campus

Julian Reyes, son of Deniece Reyes, a Vice President and Houston Community Manager, graduated from 5th grade at McFee Elementary.

Due to COVID, Julian didn’t have the traditional elementary school experience and was virtual the first 2 years of elementary. Virtual learning didn’t stop Julian from being a “character in the classroom” or a “chatterbox” as he was often told to sit still or stop using the chat feature.

Julian loves reading & science, music, gaming, and acting. When he grows up, he wants to be a scientist or “something like what you do, Mom”.

Kindergarten Graduates

Rhett Michael Clines, Grandson of Annette McConnell, Corporate Accounting Manager, has graduated Kindergarten this year! Rhett is one of those kids who knows no stranger. He’ll go up to anyone, stick out his hand and say “Hi, how are you, my name is Rhett, what’s yours?” He’ll even introduce all the people he is with.  It surprises others every time.  He loves all large construction equipment, especially excavators.  He also loves Transformers – Optimus Prime is his favorite.  Annette, his Mimi, thinks he’ll end up as an engineer since he already enjoys learning how everything works – down to the steering wheel moving the wheels on the car. He often says, “Mimi – that is so cool!”

Congratulations on your achievement Rhett! We all look forward to seeing you grow. You are kind, polite, loving, and affectionate, yet tough. We love you!

Charles Lee Sales, AKA Charley, just completed kindergarten at Hill Country Elementary! Charley is the son of Tiffany Sales, Client Accounting Manager, out of the Bandera office, and her husband Clifton.

Charley is 6 years old and loves his cars - specifically Lamborghinis, Bugattis, and McLarens. He also loves his toys, which mostly consist of cars, trucks, and trailers. Riding his four wheeler is his favorite. He is always happy and loves to play with his friends.

Congratulations, Charley!

One Year Anniversaries

We also have some one year anniversaries to celebrate!

Congratulations to Faith Padgett, Community Specialist! Faith is one of the friendly voices you hear when you call our office. She brightens up any room she is in! Outside of work, Faith enjoys reading, trying out new recipes, and spending time with friends and family. She has one dog at home, a chi-weenie named Chico. Faith recently got engaged to her fiance, Seth!

Maggie Miksch, Office Specialist, has worked with us during school breaks over the last five years, however, she officially started working with us part-time last summer. She currently attends Lee College and plans to transfer to the University of Houston to obtain her BS in Business Management. Maggie is a clothes connoisseur and loves a good bargain - not a week goes by without a new package arriving at the door. Maggie loves hanging out with her family and friends, shopping, fishing and hunting with her Beau, and being adventurous.

Congratulations and thank you to all of these lovely employees!

Associations in Practice

Our Associations in Practice Series is an offering of short videos with specific topics.

The 2023 session of the Texas legislature had some impact on property owners’ associations.  The short 17-minute video, Texas 88th Legislative Session, provides a concise review of what passed and what didn’t, and what’s next for POAs based on the Session.

Although the 88th Legislative Session came to a close on May 29th, an extraordinary event unfolded when Governor Abbott opted to veto several bills, including one that had a direct impact on POAs. In light of this development, our Texas Legislative Session Update video, a follow-up to the above, provides crucial insights and an in-depth update regarding this situation.

Also available is Texas 87th Legislative Session.  The 2021 session of the Texas legislature produced significant changes to the Texas Property Code affecting property owners’ associations. This video explores those changes and provides specific follow-up recommendations.

Super-Budget Concepts is a great introduction (or refresher) to our Super-Budget and a nice refresher or opening to the full webinar offered in our Seminar Series.

In our video, Short Term Rentals, we offer insight into short-term rental properties. We have an expert panel on board discussing everything from what a short-term rental is, to potential problems and possible solutions.

All of our Associations in Practice Series videos will be available on our YouTube channel. We will send updates when new material is added. You can also subscribe to our channel for news on the latest additions.
