Core Values in Action

Angel Tree Sponsorship

Helping the community is one of our core values, so we strive to be a positive influence on the greater community through our volunteer efforts, donations, and support. Our San Antonio office practiced just that this month by participating in the Angel Tree program at Adams Hill Elementary School.

The Angel Tree program helps provide Christmas gifts for children in need each year. Once a child has been registered and accepted as an Angel their Christmas wish list is shared with sponsors who purchase gifts that are then distributed to the family to place under their family Christmas tree.

Employees were able to sponsor 7 Angels ranging in age from 5 to 14 years old. These students are either living in a single parent home, living with their grandparents or they are foster kids that a family has chosen to take into their family.

Our company loves to bring joy to these Angels at this time of the year. We know how much this will bring smiles to each one of their faces. When we chose the gifts, we kept them in our thoughts and hope that they will enjoy their gifts with laughter and smiles. Merry Christmas to all.

Robert Tice of Twin Oaks Village Community Association
by Kim Moore

Robert Tice has been a member of the Twin Oaks Village Community Association since 2002 when he and his wife moved to the community. They were attracted to the open green spaces, plentiful trees, and beautiful landscaping that make the community attractive. Robert began volunteering in the community and subsequently joined the Board of Directors in 2011, currently serving as the President. Rob believes in allowing his Christian faith to guide his actions and principles, serving others, and treating everyone with fairness and dignity. As a volunteer and board member, he believes in hard work, financial responsibility, safety, and taking care of the community for those that call it home now, and in the future.

When he is not volunteering in the community, Robert enjoys listening to music, art, gardening, fishing, and DIY projects. He also loves to explore new places, as well as meet new people along the way. A few interesting facts about Rob are that he used to play guitar in rock bands and he has skydived over the Gulf of Mexico.

It is an honor to work alongside Robert and the entire Board of Directors of Twin Oaks Village.

Employee Anniversaries

Dawna Woods, Maintenance Coordinator out of our North Houston office, is celebrating her 26th company anniversary! Dawna has been a huge support to all the Maintenance Coordinators this year by preparing new maintenance service contracts for many of our communities as they expire.  Dawna is all about family when she is not working.  She and her husband have 3 sons and 3 granddaughters.  She also has been known to be a master at couponing and finding the perfect deal!

Kimberly Cowart is celebrating her 9th year with the company! Kim has been a Community Manager at our North Houston office since she started with us, and this year joined the executive team as a director on the Board of Directors and a company Vice President.  Kim is one of the most nurturing people we know and is often the one you might go to when you need a shoulder to lean on.  In her free time, Kim will never say no to a trip to the beach or to taking in an animal in need of a home.

Compliance Coordinator Alicia Adams is also celebrating her 9-year anniversary this month! Alicia works out of the North Houston office providing needed documentation for home sales within our communities.  She was previously an Administrative Assistant and is fully capable and always willing to step in wherever help is needed.  During her free time, some of the activities Alicia enjoys include camping, baking, sewing, and knitting.

Associations in Practice

Our Associations in Practice Series is an offering of short videos with very specific topics.  Our newest video is Texas 87th Legislative Session.  The 2021 session of the Texas legislature produced significant changes to the Texas Property Code affecting property owners’ associations. This video explores those changes and provides specific follow-up recommendations.

Super-Budget Concepts is a great introduction (or refresher) to our Super-budget and a nice refresher or opening to the full webinar offered in our Seminar Series.

In our video, Short Term Rentals, we offer insight into short-term rental properties. We have an expert panel on board discussing everything from what a short-term rental is, to potential problems and possible solutions.

All of our Associations in Practice Series videos will be available on our YouTube channel. We will send updates when new material is added. You can also subscribe to our channel for news on the latest additions.
