We’re Moved In!

It’s official! As of July 12th, we are moved into our new North Houston Office! It’s been a long time coming, and we’re grateful for all of the time and effort all parties put into this project to make it a reality; thank you to our general contractor, O’Donnell/Snider, our leadership at C.I.A. Services, and all of our employees for their flexibility and hard work.

We’re greatly enjoying our upgraded technology, larger workspaces and conference rooms, outdoor pergola and walking trail, beautiful kitchen, and everything else our building has to offer!

As a reminder, our new address is 18333 Timber Forest Drive, Humble, TX 77346 - come visit us if you require any assistance. Also, please feel free to inquire about using one of our conference spaces for your Association’s Board meetings.

Now that we’re settled in, we wanted to share some photos of us occupying our new space, including some awesome drone shots from O’Donnell/Snider! Check them out on the attachment below; use the arrows on the photos to cycle through them.

Barbara Meeks of Fairway Pointe
by Catina Hunter

Barbara Meeks moved into Fairway Pointe in September 2016 after a major renovation of her new home. The following year, armed with 25 years of campaigning experience, she helped a few neighbors get elected to the Board. In 2018, she too was elected to the Fairway Pointe Board of Directors and was recently reelected Board President.

In addition to her help with Fairway Pointe, Barbara has been a dedicated volunteer in many community groups including Clear Creek Environmental Foundation, League City Garden Club and Clear Creek ISD PTAs for 30 years. She is also a member of Clear Creek Community Church.  In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey in 2017, Barbara volunteered at the Disaster Relief Donation Center for four weeks and served thousands of families. She definitely stays busy in her pursuit to help others!

Barbara credits her love for gardening and her well-manicured community appearance to her British Heritage. She is also a passionate volunteer for Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue; her neighbors enjoy meeting the various fosters that come through her door. In her spare time, Barbara enjoys baking, traveling, and time with her family, including two young grandsons.

Join us in thanking Barbara for her extensive volunteerism in her community!

Special Education Sessions

We would like to invite you to join the 87th Legislative Update for Board Members with Ralph Troiano, a series of free, virtual seminars for those involved in Property Owners’ Associations to better understand how Senate Bill 1588 from Texas’ 87th Legislative Session will affect us in this industry. This bill covers a wide range of topics, the majority of which will go into effect on September 1, 2021. Action is needed by all POAs to comply with certain parts of the law; C.I.A. Services President, Ralph Troiano, will walk you through all you need to know for your Association. Because the bill is quite extensive in its coverage, and because some of the documents contain what might seem like strange or overly permissive language, we are hosting these four online sessions to provide background on the laws and explain the curious verbiage.  You’ll gain important insight that will make your Board discussion on these documents easier. We’ve scheduled a total of 4 different zoom seminars for various days and times to hopefully accommodate everyone’s schedules. Please see below for dates, times, and joining information!

Here are just a few topics that will be covered in the seminar:

  • Architectural Review
  • Pool Enclosures
  • Security Measures
  • Religious Displays
  • Hearings
  • Management Certificates
  • Resale Certificates
  • Meeting Notices

Please consider joining one of the Zoom sessions below if this education interests you. Additionally, feel free to share this invitation with anyone within the industry who may benefit from it; we are looking forward to spreading important knowledge to all in our community! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at customercare@ciaservices.com or 713-981-9000.

Living Our Core Values

2021 Blood Drive

On August 3rd, the North Houston Office was visited by a Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center donation bus for our 2021 blood drive. Many employees took a break from work to donate and help save lives. The different components of blood help different types of people: red blood cells are used to treat cancer, surgery, and trauma patients, plasma often is needed to replace fluids in burn and trauma patients, and platelets help cancer and bone marrow transplant patients recover.

It is important to C.I.A. Services to live up to our core values, S.P.E.C.I.A.L. We are empathetic to those who need our help and always strive to give back to our community.

If you’d like to learn more about what the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center does or how you can help, check out their website here.

Associations in Practice

Our Associations in Practice Series is an offering of short videos with very specific topics.  Our newest video is Texas 87th Legislative Session.  The 2021 session of the Texas legislature produced significant changes to the Texas Property Code affecting property owners’ associations. This video explores those changes and provides specific follow-up recommendations.

Super-Budget Concepts is a great introduction (or refresher) to our Super-budget and a nice refresher or opening to the full webinar offered in our Seminar Series.

In our video, Short Term Rentals, we offer insight into short-term rental properties. We have an expert panel on board discussing everything from what a short-term rental is, to potential problems and possible solutions.

All of our Associations in Practice Series videos will be available on our YouTube channel. We will send updates when new material is added. You can also subscribe to our channel for news on the latest additions.
