Volunteer Spotlight

Harriette Furino of Deerfield
by Sebby Regalado

Volunteer extraordinaire, Harriette Furino came with her husband, Antonio, to Deerfield in 1991 when the neighborhood was still a work in progress and many of the homes were yet to be built. She wasted no time in volunteering for countless tasks. Her skills in real estate and remarkable writing skills are ever on display.

Harriette served on the Board of Directors for six years, including two as President. But whether or not an office holder, she continues to serve in many capacities. She has judged Yard of the Month, Holiday judging, National Night Out, the Fourth of July Parade and the Easter Egg Hunt.

Harriette is the person that has taken great care to put together detailed manuals, historical notes, and orientation materials. Therefore, she is available to any board member or neighbor for consultation and/or mentoring.

For many years and continuing Harriette writes or edits newsletter articles. No regular activity suffers from her lack of availability. Moreover, she regularly walks the neighborhood reporting anything that needs attention, and you know the dog waste bags at the Children’s Park, yes she keeps those replenished.

Officially, she has served on the ACC, currently as chairperson of a large committee with one of the fastest responses times of any group. Harriette represents Deerfield in District 9 meetings and reports back to the Deerfield board. Deerfield’s help from Councilman Courage and his staff is, in a large part, a result of Harriette’s good works on our behalf. When Harriette speaks, everyone listens.

At the heart of Harriette Furino is more than a disciplined devotion to community service; she is truly a caring individual and friend to many. Don’t be surprised if you are in the hospital and you get a visit from Harriette, bringing a smile and chocolate.

Thanks to Harriette for all her service. By her side, Antonio, deserves a shout out too. He constructed the bulletin board attached to the tennis courts and together they maintain it.  Deerfield is truly blessed to have Harriette.

  • May - Cypress Forest Lakes Community Association Humble Office - Kaila Gattis

Anniversaries

We love to celebrate special milestones with our employees. In the Employee Corner of each eNews issue, we will list all employees that have reached their 1 year anniversary with our company. Additionally, once employees reach five years and become stockholders, we recognize them each year on their anniversary month.

Congratulations to Gloria Bell on her 29th anniversary with C.I.A. Services. Gloria is a stockholder and provides a variety of staff support. Gloria is always on hand to offer her support. She has been an integral part of the Humble office for so long and for many, a "second mom". We would be so lost without her!

Congratulations to Patrick Sheffield on his 10th anniversary with the company. Patrick is a stockholder at our Southwest Houston office where he is a Maintenance Coordinator. Patrick is usually the first one to sign up for the company events and when you are not looking, he just might pull a prank on you!

Annette McConnell is also celebrating her 10th anniversary with C.I.A. Services. Annette is a stockholder and the Office Manager at our Bandera office. Annette is very friendly to everyone. When Houston employees are visiting, she is always eager to show them around town.

Another employee celebrating 10 years is San Antonio’s Roseann Ashe! Roseanne is a stockholder and Office Manager. She began in our Accounting Department and transitioned to lead our San Antonio office a few years ago. Roseanne has a great fashion sense. We always look forward to seeing what she will come up with next!

Valerie Lehr, celebrates 6 years with the company this month! Valerie is a Community Manager at our Humble office. She is sweet and caring to everyone around her and she is always the first person we ask when we need a cake baked!

We are also celebrating many 1 year anniversaries this month!

  • Ryne Williams reached his one year anniversary on May 30th! Ryne is the on-site Community Assistant at the Cinco Ranch II community. Ryne joined us shortly after college and enjoys learning something new every day!

  • Jeff Northington is a Houston Maintenance Coordinator. He is so loved, that we couldn’t let just one office enjoy his company; he spends his time at both the Humble office and the Southwest Houston office!

  • Anderson Campbell is also a Maintenance Coordinator. He is officially assigned to the Humble office but spends most of his days touring communities in Katy. Anderson joined our company new to the industry and quickly learned the tricks of the trade.

  • Ashely Sullivan is a Community Specialist at our Humble office. She is an incredibly positive person and never lets anything get her down. Her smile is contagious and we look forward to seeing it every day.
