Season of Giving

C.I.A. Services prides itself in supporting the communities that we serve and those around us.  We encourage our employees to participate by organizing different charity drives throughout the year.  This year has seen many charity projects across all four offices.  From national fundraisers like ’Relay for Life’ to supply or food drives for local charities.

December is a special time that we pull out all the stops and each office picks a charity for which to raise funds or supplies.  The charities vary from year to year and a lot of thought goes into selecting the charity.

The Bandera office has chosen Meals on Wheels Feeding Pets.  Many seniors are often faced with the choice of feeding themselves or their pet.  Meals on Wheels Feeding Pets delivers pet food along with the senior’s meals so they both can eat.  The staff at the Bandera office are taking pet food donations for this wonderful cause.  Currently 36 clients with 64 pets are being served.

The North office has chosen Camp Hope as their charity.  Camp Hope offers assistance for veterans who suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).  They supply temporary housing during treatment.  The staff at the North office is collecting toiletries, cleaning supplies and clothing to help keep these wonderful vets in a safe place while they work through their struggles.

The San Antonio office has chosen The Marine Corp Reserve Toys for Tots program. They are collecting unwrapped toys so less fortunate families can have a merry Christmas.  In addition, they are taking donations of pet food and supplies to benefit Poquita Paws Rescue.  Their mission is to rescue small dogs from high kill shelters or take in pets that their owner can’t afford to keep or has passed away.

The Southwest office has chosen West Houston Assistance Ministries (aka Second Blessings).  WHAM matches client needs with available services and programs, including financial assistance, job search, food pantry, low cost sale items and special programs. Since the inception of WHAM, they have provided vital resources to as many as 22,000 clients each year. WHAM has developed a reputation as a caring, concerned and supportive operation for those in need.  The staff of the Southwest office is collecting food, toys and clothing.

We are proud of our staff members for having such a generous spirit and impacting the communities around us.  If you would like to donate to any of these causes, please visit your local office.  We will be happy to deliver your donations when we go.

Roseann Boynton-Jones of Bowling Green Garden Homes
by Frances McIntyre

Roseann Boynton-Jones has been a Bowling Green homeowner since 2008. Ms. Jones was elected to the Bowling Green Board of Directors in 2014.

Since then, Roseann has held one of the Vice President positions.  Roseann is an employee of the City of Pasadena and has brought great knowledge to the community on the city’s role.  As a result, the Association was successful in receiving assistance from the City of Pasadena to repair pot holes in community roads.

Roseann does everything from hand delivering letters to homeowenrs, addressing parking violators,  to general community monitoring.  She accomplishes all of this while walking her dog throughout the community!

I thought it would be great to recognize Ms. Roseann Boynton-Jones as she has continued to step out and educate herself on Association business.  Thank you Roseann for your hard work and dedication.  Although you may feel like you have not done everything alone, you deserve so much credit for all you do to help the Association.

San Antonio Hockey Night

Each year, we invite our community volunteers, employees, families and friends to join us for Hockey Night with the San Antonio Rampage.  We spend a fun-filled evening watching a great sport.  If you’ve not seen a live game, it’s a real treat.

Our 2017 Hockey Night will be on Saturday, January 28th at 7:00 pm when the Rampage will take on the west coast’s Ontario Reign.

Hockey is a cool, fun and fast-paced game.  If you’ve never seen hockey in person, you are in for a treat.  We’ll give you a nice guide to hockey that explains the rules (yes, there are rules!).  We have great seats reserved behind the opponent’s goal so we hope to see lots of action at our end.  We’ll have a bunch of door prizes for everyone including the 9th in our series of collectible cowbells with the Rampage logo.  What a great way to start off the new year – hockey in beautiful San Antonio!
