Disaster Declaration - Kendall County
Notice to all Hidden Springs property owners!
Due to the wildfires across the Hill County, the Kendall County Office of Emergency Management and Fire Marshall, have issued a Local Disaster Declaration that effectively bans outdoor burning, use of fireworks and hot works. A "hot work" is described as any activity that causes heat, sparks or open flames.
This means no outdoor welding, torch cutting, grinding or open burning allowed without a permit from the Fire Marshall’s Office.
Property owners with active construction, please notify and inform your builders of this declaration.
PREPARE - High Fire Danger
We would like to inform you that high winds and dry conditions have significantly heightened the fire risk across Texas, including our area. A weather update indicates that we will be experiencing conditions that will further elevate the fire danger in the Hill Country.
On Tuesday, the fire danger is expected to reach VERY HIGH to EXTREME levels across at least 200 of Texas’ 254 counties. The National Weather Service (NWS) forecasts winds of 25 to 50 mph. Although winds may weaken later Tuesday, the fire risk will still remain high.
Considering these conditions, we urge all residents to take precautionary measures:
- Secure all outdoor equipment, furniture, and decorations to prevent them from becoming projectiles in high winds.
- NO BURNING is permitted during this time. Please refrain from any activities that may pose a fire risk.

Your cooperation is essential in helping to keep our community safe during these hazardous conditions. Stay alert and monitor local weather updates for any changes.
