Become a Volunteer
Homeowners Associations thrive on volunteers and there are many volunteer opportunities available. The dedication and skills of volunteers are an invaluable commodity.
Which volunteer option is the right choice for you? Are you a born leader with fierce decision making skills? Consider a position on the Board of Directors. Was your home or vehicle recently broken into? Create a strong, active Crime Watch/ Block Captain Committee. Do you have a green thumb? Then the garden club, yard of the month or beautification committee is for you! Are you known for throwing outstanding parties? The Social Committee is a perfect fit for your talent.
Whatever your motivation, there’s a place just for you. Volunteers are in high demand. Find out how you can help and make yourself at home!
Board of Directors
Following is a summary of the role each officer may play on the Board of Directors; however, the board may elect to transfer some roles to the manager. For example, the manager may lead the meeting or take the minutes; however, the decision makers are the elected directors, not the manager.
President
The role of the President is that of a leader. The President typically presides over the meetings, keeps the agenda going and ensures sound decisions are made.
The President leads discussions and ensures productivity. The President often signs legal documents such as loans and contracts and serves as a signatory for checks (payments).
Vice President
The Vice-President shall act in place of the President in the event of his/her absence, inability or refusal to act, and shall exercise and discharge such other duties as may be required of this position by the Board.
Committee Volunteers
Architectural Control
This committee reviews all home improvement applications submitted by homeowners requesting improvement to their home such as a new roof, paint or a pool.
The Members must have an understanding of the governing documents as well as strong decision making ability.
This committee is responsible to ensure submissions are in compliance with the general design aesthetic of the community and be able to work within time constraints.
