The LVRPOA Tree Health Committee, chaired by Dan Hamm, endorses the attached article link which contains good information about tree trimming / pruning practices to best avoid oak wilt and other vascular fungus infestations. Prime pruning season is after mid-July and running through Valentine’s Day.  And always immediately spray the cut surface of the tree with paint as sealant.
