Cars Off the Street Campaign

The Oak Hollow Board of Directors is asking residents to participate in the “Cars Off the Street” Campaign by parking in your own driveways rather than the streets of our great neighborhood. Why you ask? We believe this is the safest and most convenient option for all residents.  

Here are a few great safety reasons:

• Improved Visibility for Drivers and Pedestrians; Parked cars can block sight lines, increasing the risk of accidents;
• Reduced Risk of Side-Swipe Collisions; Narrower lanes due to parked cars can lead to more frequent side-swipes and mirror damage;
• Better Access for Emergency Vehicles; Fire trucks, ambulances, and police vehicles need clear paths—parked cars can delay response times in critical situations.
• Lower Likelihood of Car Break-Ins and Vandalism; Cars parked on the street are more exposed to theft and damage compared to those in driveways or garages;
• Reduced Speeding and Reckless Driving; Clearer streets allow for better traffic flow and reduce erratic driving caused by sudden lane changes around parked vehicles.
