Association
Annual Assessments
The Assessments are based on the square footage of land owned. Assessments are due annually on January 1st.
The Commercial Association pays a percentage of the cost for specific services that benefit both the Commercial and the Homeowners Associations. Shared services include landscaping, sheriff patrol, and lake management. The assessment fees go towards the shared services as well administrative expenses and management services.
You may submit your payment by mail, in person, or online.
Board of Directors
The Association is operated by a five-member Board of Directors. The Board of Directors meets quarterly and an Annual Membership meeting is held each year. Notices are mailed to all commercial property owners prior to all membership meetings.

The Board of Directors elects the officers after the annual meeting. The term of all officers is one year. A description of each position is available on the Become a Volunteer page.
Services and Utilities
Streetlights
CenterPoint Energy maintains streetlights throughout Summerwood. If a light is out or blinking, please call CenterPoint at 713-207-2222 or report it online. You will be asked to provide:

a pole number for the non-functioning lights you want to report

contact information (in case more information is needed to locate a streetlight)

an e-mail address (if you want feedback regarding your repair request)

the number of streetlights you would like to report
Water
Southwest Water Company (713-405-1760) is the service provider for all of Summerwood’s Municipal Utility Districts (MUDs).
The Association is divided into three separate MUD Districts; MUD 342, MUD 344 & MUD 361. Each MUD has a Board of Directors who holds a meeting once a month to discuss established policies in the interest of its residents and utility customers.
A MUD may adopt and enforce all necessary charges, fees and taxes in order to provide service.

Sherrif Patrol
Summerwood Commercial Association, in conjunction with the Summerwood Community Association and all three Summerwood MUDs, maintains a patrol contract with Harris County Sheriff’s Office. The 24-hour dispatch number is 713-221-6000.
City of Houston Fire Station 105
Summerwood is the home of City of Houston Fire Station 105. The station is located at the southeast corner of West Lake Houston Parkway and Deussen Parkway.
The station began service in 2008 and is currently home to several firefighters, one fire truck and one paramedic unit.

Animal Control
Harris County Public Health and Environmental Services - Veterinary Public Health works in partnership with the public to create a safe and healthy environment for animals and people.
This goal is accomplished by providing the following services:
- Enforcing Harris County Animal Laws related to rabies vaccination, pet licensing, confinement, rabies quarantine, and the sale of animals from roadsides and parking lots
- Investigating reports of animals biting humans and enforcing animal quarantine procedures
- Collaborating with state and federal agencies to investigate and prevent zoonotic diseases
- Sheltering lost, abandoned and potentially dangerous loose animals
- Offering adoption services for sheltered animals
- Providing pet licenses, rabies vaccinations for dogs & cats, and microchipping services
- Responding to complaints about loose animals, dangerous animals, injured animals and wildlife
- Planning for pets during disasters
