It is an exciting time to be living in the Rancho Verde Community Association. The community has made many changes since the developer turned the association over to the residents in late 2014. The residents elected 3 passionate residents to the Board who were not daunted by the challenges they knew they had to overcome. Each of the Board members has unique talents and different points of view but always work together for the benefit of the community.
One of the most important things for the Board was to get residents involved and promote a sense of community. In the spring of 2015 the community hosted their 1st ever community event. Residents enjoyed food, drinks, door prizes and a bounce house for the kids, as well as the chance to meet some of their neighbors and the Board. While the 2016 event had to be rescheduled due to the spring floods, the event went off without a hitch with an even bigger turnout than last year. The Board hopes to add more events in the future.
So far 2016 has seen a lot of changes in the community. Through an agreement with neighboring Sonoma Ranch, the community now enjoys patrol service with the Precinct 3 Constables. The wrought iron fence around the pool was repainted and the monuments, clubhouse, pool deck, playground and parking lot were power washed. The parking lot striping was given a fresh coat of paint and the clubhouse paint was touched up. Needed repairs to the water fountain and restrooms are underway. New tables have been added at the pool and a camera system and electronic access system are in the works.
The association has big plans for the future. The Board is in negotiations with a neighboring community to enter into a shared usage agreement that will provide residents from the neighboring community with access to the pool and clubhouse. The funds from this agreement will be used to help expand the current facilities for all the residents’ enjoyment. Some of the ideas include expanding the playground, building a shade structure at the pool or even a splash pad. The future looks bright for Rancho Verde!
