This is a specialized position working on-site in our communities. The responsibilities vary from community to community but generally include coordination of community programs and events, communications through web site and newsletters and providing information to residents.

Community Coordinator Job Description

The Community Coordinator must possess the following skills:

  • A professional, helpful demeanor
  • Excellent customer service and the ability to get along with people
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Leadership abilities
  • Well organized and detail oriented
  • Good judgment skills
  • Time management
  • Handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Ability to react calmly in stressful situations
  • Resourceful
  • Creative
  • Self Motivated and Disciplined

The Community Coordinator (CC) shall generally do and perform, or cause to be performed, all acts and things reasonably necessary to conduct community events.  The CC shall also act as editor of the community intranet, newsletter, and event-related communications.  The following job description outlined is an overview of the position’s responsibilities.

  • Coordinate special events and ongoing community activities as approved by the Board and within the constraints of the Association budget
  • Solicit volunteers
  • Coordinate volunteers and hired help for community events
  • Coordinate with established and new community groups
  • Provide photos of community events and group events for Intranet and newsletter
  • Prepare an annual events calendar and budget to be presented to the Board of Directors for approval
  • Attend quarterly Board meetings and prepare a CC Agenda and packet for meeting
  • Conduct monthly Intranet Training Classes for new residents
  • Monitor and manage the content of the Intranet on a daily basis
  • Act in accordance with all decisions made by the Board of Directors related to CC
  • Respond to the needs of the Association members.  Communicate with members through telephone calls, letters, and/or meetings.  Assist members with any CC related issues they may have.
  • Communicate with all entities related to the community events, Intranet and newsletter
  • Participate in training offered by Association and Management Company
